Nouvelle-Zélande / New-Zealand

Dans quelques heures Peter et moi-même survolerons la mer de Tasman, en route pour la Nouvelle-Zélande. Nous sommes en plein hiver austral, et nous préparons physiquement à affronter des vents glacials. Je file, j'vous donne RDV le 10 août.

In a few hours Pete and I will be flying over the Tasman sea, on our way to New-Zealand. We are in the middle of the austral winter, getting ready for freezing wind. Off I go, I shall be back on the 10th of August.

A la rencontre des baleines / Whale watching

L'état du Queensland est réputé pour son site d'observation de nombreux mammifères marins. De juillet à octobre les baleines à bosses migrent dans les régions tropicales pour la reproduction, et l'été dans les régions polaires pour l'alimentation. Nous décidons avec Kate de partir à leur rencontre.

Les photos ont vraiment été prises "par chance". Pour faire court, j'ai été malade pendant tout le trajet en bateau (3h30 de nausée, je vous passe les détails), et était partie m'allonger quand soudain tous les passagers se sont mis à hurler. En me relevant, objectif en main, les baleines étaient juste en face de moi.

Queensland is well-known for its numerous spots allowing the observation of diverse marine mammals. From July to October humpback whales migrate to tropical areas (to breed), while in summer they migrate to polar areas (to feed themselves). Kate and I decided to go and watch them.

The pictures were more of a lucky incident. To make a long story short, I got seasick during our boat trip (3h30 of nausea, I save you the details), and had to lay down when suddenly all passengers shouted. As I stood up, camera in hand, the whales were straight in front of me.

La graduation est l'occasion d'une bonne soirée entre amis. Venetia (une collègue de K2) vient d'obtenir son diplôme également; forcément une soirée ensemble s'imposait. Et pour marquer le coup "ce soir c'est soirée retour à l'école". Je tiens à préciser que Barbie était bien enrobée d'un gâteau. Nous l'avons mangée (Barbie) avec délectation.

Graduation is the perfect excuse for throwing a party.Venetia (a colleague from K2) also just graduated; inevitably a joint-party was a must-be. To mark the occasion, theme is "back to school". I just want to point out that Barbie is wrapped up with some cake. We took great pleasure eating it (Barbie).

J'ai pas mal d'articles en retard... Commençons par le commencement. J'ai été acceptée dans plusieurs programmes de Master (dont l'Université de Sydney, Griffith University, ainsi que SKEMA Business School). J'ai finalement opté pour un programme de MSc International Marketing & Business Development (ouais, le titre en jette, j'adore). Retour annoncé pour le 16 août, direction Paris. Entre temps j'ai terminé mon travail chez K2 (chez qui j'ai travaillé pendant 7 mois), dis aurevoir à plusieurs personnes, graduée, et enfin préparer mon voyage pour la Nouvelle-Zélande. Allez, je vous en dis pas plus. En attendant, un petit photo-shoot de ma journée à Mt Coot-tha avec Peter.

I am quite a few articles behind... So, let's start from the beginning. First, I got accepted for a few Master degree programmes (including the University of Sydney, Griffith University, as well as SKEMA Business School). Ultimately, I picked a MSc International Business & Business Development (yeah, great title, I love it). I will be on my way to Paris on the 16th of August. In the meanwhile, I finished my work at K2 (whom I have been working for for the past 7 months), said goodbye to a few people, graduated, and finally got ready for my trip to New-Zealand. Ok, I am not telling you anymore. To keep you waited here are some pictures from my day-trip to Mt Coot-tha with Peter.

Un koukaboora, qui est un oiseau typique de l'Australie. Son "chant" ressemble aux ricanements d'un singe, c'est tout simplement énorme.
